There were 23 entries, and many were very clever. Those selected are not only of high quality, but can also be tweaked and fine tuned to produce a variety of products. Here is a list of the winners/prize winning entries:
Helen Stubblefield Anderson for Upcycled T-Shirt Rag Rug (Can also be made into baskets,bags, and small containers.)
Helen has worked teaching her technique of rag rug making in Africa, working for SERRV International, a fair trade non-profit that has been working for the last sixty years in developing countries. Our aim is to create a local fair trade network right here in Memphis.
Sarah Terry for Locker Hooked Rug Design (Soft springy rug made from canvas mesh and fabric strips...in this case old sheets.)
Cindi Sturni for "Open-A-Book" Hanging Light ( Books folded in imaginative ways to create interesting sculptural effect.)
